The house itself is set above the water with a view that even on the rainiest of days is beautiful. The interior of the house is very warm and cozy with plenty of windows to enjoy the beautiful scenery. There are two large decks to enjoy outside, as well as a gas grill to enjoy a cookout on. The owners are very responsive/hospitable and are some of the nicest people you’ll meet here. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend anyone staying at this beautiful house. Its definitely one of the best places to enjoy Ketchikan.

We have had an absolutely fantastic stay in this house! The house was recently remodeled and looks beautiful – the photos speak for themselves! It is supplied with everything you need (as far as kitchenware/ linens/ cleaning supplies), rooms are spacious and beds are all very comfortable. Stunning views from every window in the house – ocean views, whale watching, beautiful sunsets, and even stargazing outside. The perfect place to sit and enjoy, even on a rainy day! The house is tucked back, away from the road, making it very quiet and private. Conveniently only a 10-15 minute drive into town. The owners are great people, super nice and very responsive. And Mary, at Alaska Travelers, makes everything smooth and easy to book.

We had a most wonderful 5-night stay in 533 Bugges Beach House. The best aspect of the house are the views. The water, mountains, sky stayed with us long after we left. The house is bright, airy, spacious and delightful in every respect. The living room is most relaxing with comfortable seating. The bedrooms are comfortably furnished. The kitchen and dining area are well equipped. The outside is really reflective of the wooded area of Ketchikan. The management is very helpful and responsive, and went out of their way to accommodate our requests. In sum, it was heaven on earth, no less!

We had the most amazing time in Ketchikan and it is all due to staying in this perfect home! The house is so comfortable and the views are spectacular. The location is far enough from town to be peaceful and quiet, but close enough to run in for activities. We cooked every night at the home as the kitchen is fully equipped and there really isn’t a better view to enjoy your meal. Everything in the home is incredibly well taken care of and the attention to detail is well noted, from the supremely comfortable beds to heated bathroom floors. We appreciated that the pictures on the website were spot on, and the homeowners and AK Travelers were so helpful answering all of our questions before and during our stay. We truly enjoyed this house and look forward to coming back for a much longer amount of time.

Bugge’s Beach House is absolutely fabulous. The house is clean, beds are comfortable, and the kitchen and bathrooms are well stocked with needed items. Overlooking the water is beautiful and watching the wildlife on the water is entertaining. I never felt housebound even when it would rain for several days at a time as there is so much scenery to look at from the view out the widows. Easy to get to and far enough out of town but still close. The place is truly a gem and a pleasure. 5 star recommendation for sure.

We have been planning this trip to Alaska for 2 years. When we arrived at the house and saw this amazing view, we knew it was well worth the wait. I really don’t think there would be a better place to stay in Ketchikan. It is very quiet at the house, you get to watch cruise ships come and go, fishing boats and tour boats out your windows, we saw whales, deer, harbor seals and lots of bald eagles right off the deck. We slept in the downstairs king bedroom and the view to wake up to every morning never got old. We never cooked at the house but it looked like it is fully stocked. Another amazing feature is the actual beach! We walked down to the beach almost every day and multiple times a day for high tide and low tide. There were crabs, shells and star fish.
There is also a washer and dryer that we used multiple times as we were there for 6 days. The beds are SUPER comfy.
Only a couple negative comments: When we arrived, there was no toilet paper… none. We had to go purchase some at Wal-Mart. We did call and Mary said she would bring us some over but we already had it figured out.
We wanted to run the dishwasher a couple different times to wash plates and cups and there wasn’t but 1 teaspoon of detergent left. We looked every where to find more. We ended up hand washing. We were there on one of the hotter days and the house had 1 fan. We went to Wal-Mart and purchased a fan, ended up having to leave at the house so now there are 2 fans 🙂
I would 100% go back to this house again! Highly recommend it!!

        Jennifer,
Thank you for your wonderful description of the house and the view. We also appreciate you letting us know about the supplies. We should have checked the house completely because we were using a new cleaning service.
As a reference to future guests, we would be happy to bring any basic supplies over to you ASAP if this were to happen.

My family and I stayed a week here, the view from the living room was fantastic. We saw some bears a couple days, and even a few whales , so this spot is a nature lovers paradise. Location was a little outside of town, but actually proved to be nice to be away from the downtown cruise ship traffic. Mary , who helped us book this was extremely helpful and had lots of great ideas and resources available for our trip.
