#550 Orca Beach Cabin This beach cabin is exactly what many of our customers ask for, a rustic Alaska cabin on the waterfront not far from Knudson Cove Marina. It doesn’t have a lot of extras or frills but just the needed basics so leave the internet and cable TV behind on this vacation and enjoy the wonderful beach and cabin. The cabin was built in the 1940s. In recent years it has had some changes that included a newer addition which added a large master bedroom, a bathroom, sleeping loft and a living room. The kitchen-dining room area is in the original portion of the cabin. There is a futon sofa in this room that can be used for extra sleeping space. There are twin bunk beds in the living room. This cabin will sleep a family or group of six people.
It is in a beautiful setting where days can be enjoyed beachcombing for shells and driftwood, or searching the tide pools for starfish and small crab. Pull up a beach log and barbecue salmon steaks, hot dogs and s’mores on an open fire. Have a glass of wine while you search the sand for beach glass. There will be beautiful Southeast Alaska sunsets to enjoy from the deck or from any window in the cabin! Whatever you do, this Alaska beach cabin will be a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a memorable trip to Ketchikan. No internet or cable TV at this cabin.

We would give this delightful, heavenly place 100 stars if we could! THE most perfect, scenic, wildlife-filled location in Ketchikan, you will be delighted at the beauty out your window while always comfortable inside. Perfectly outfitted for any length stay, and designed in a way that is welcoming to families or groups as well as a cozy get-away for two. This is our “dream home”, and since we don’t own it, we love that it only takes a quick call to Alaska Travelers to book a stay.
Thank you Nancy for leaving such a nice review. We love having return guests at the cabin. I will let Alan and Karen know.
A hidden oasis nestled in the trees and perched ocean-side with a majestic view of the wildlife and rugged Alaskan terrain. This cabin offers a delightful, charming, cozy setting. Having stayed here for nearly a decade, we have always found it to be impeccably clean and comfortable. A full wall of windows with breathtaking scenery captivates your attention. The pods of whales, seals, soaring eagles, and the busy waterway provides hours of entertainment. The beach offers an array of activities from searching tide pools, to beach combing, to watching the sunset in front of a glowing campfire. The owners do a great job of maintaining the cabin and responding to questions. Mary, with Alaska Travelers, is a delight to work with. The time we spend here is pure joy! We look forward to it all year long!
Thank you Lynne. Our return guests are the best!
I was just lucky enough to stay at the Orca Beach Cabin from May 6 to May 21. I have stayed there a few times now, and the story is always the same: I want to extend my stay, I don’t want to leave, and I have a MAGNIFICENT TIME and see amazing scenery and wildlife out the window. It’s hard to find words to review a place I love this much. You are lucky if you get to be there, and I hope I may be able to return someday soon!
As always, thank you Nancy. We look forward to your return.
We love the Orca Cabin, this is the third time we have stayed there and have already booked our 2022 reservations, as usual the cabin was very clean and ready for guest, plenty room for our party of four, nicely tucked away on the breach with amazing views, we had friends staying somewhere else that came to visit and were so jealous that we had such a nice place, that they themselves are enquiring to book the cabin for their next trip, a special shout out to Mary who has been outstanding to work with over the years, we love the cabin and we love Mary, thank you Alaska Travelers for making all this happen!
Thanks Ed! You are a 5 star guest, welcome to stay at the cabin anytime!
We stayed in the Orca Beach Cabin again in early May 2022. Any review of ours for this place that we absolutely love may contain enough superlatives as to become boring, but from location to accommodations to amenities (come cook in this kitchen!), it is perfect for us. Remember — May on the water in Ketchikan is magical with daily sightings of migrating waterfowl and birds. And marine mammals, mink, and river otters. I happen to especially love seeing fin whales, and every day we saw and heard them. You are lucky if you decide to reserve this cabin and, as has been said before, you will find it very hard to leave.
