#551-3 Lich Pt Tree House Are you looking for the ultimate vacation experience? Look no further, this luxury tree house is truly unique and the only tree house that actually has a hemlock tree growing through the center in an enclosed tree tower! The two story, custom built, tree house can accommodate up to 5 people. It has two bedrooms with a king bed, a queen and a window twin bed. There is one bathroom w/shower on lower floor and a half bath on the upper floor. The kitchenette has a microwave with convection oven, a full size sink, refrigerator and cooktop.
The house was actually built around a hemlock tree. The “tree tower” is one of the most interesting architectural features of the house. Windows surround the tower so you can watch from inside as squirrels and birds scurry or flutter about the tree. A winding cedar staircase leads you around the tree from the lower floor to the upper area. There is a round window at the top of the tower on all four sides. From the water the house looks quite interesting with the hemlock tree protruding from the center of the tower. You will appreciate the hand milled cedar trim and all the unique detailed touches in the Alaskan decor. We can sum it up by calling it romantic, adventurous and exclusive with a million dollar ocean view! It is located within walking distance to the marina and some of the best fishing Alaska has to offer. Lich Pt Tree House has it all for the traveler looking to make the most of a Ketchikan adventure. It’s the most magical place we’ve ever been to. I hate to give It good ratings because we don’t want to share it. The Decour is fascinating, the kitchen is wonderful, and the deck with the barbecue works perfect for us. We come here every year.

It was great, Joyce and Wayne were super nice …only complaint arises from my Hubby and Son both being over 6’ tall and well …discovering low hanging rafter (again and again) at top of “ships ladder”. Actually, from my perspective that was a plus (in the category of comic amusement) not a negative. ????
If it was my deck, I would trim some ( just a couple) tree branches so I could watch whales more, but I can totally see why they would retain for the treehouse aura. ????
In short, while more expensive than most of our trips to Ketchikan housing wise, as a one off this was perfect and a well needed/deserved expenditure to celebrate the (at least temporary) reopening post covid.
Only regret is I didn’t have more time to chat with Wayne on the nautical history tidbits …. ????
The Treehouse was a magical place. Loved the decor, the feel and location. Would highly recommend for a special weekend or a fun vacation.
