#644 Stedman Red House If you are looking for downtown convenience, look no more, this house has it all! It is perfectly positioned at the edge of downtown Ketchikan on Stedman Street. No need to rent a car because everything is close walking distance. There are restaurants, cafés, shops, art galleries, museum and tours are all in walking distance. If you would like to venture out of the city, there is a bus stop just outside the door. If you would like to go charter fishing the dock is less than a block away.
The house has a view of the harbor and feels like brand new. There are 2 roomy bedrooms, both with adjustable Tempurpedic, queen sized beds. There is also a loft with a good quality, futon sofa. Both bedrooms and the loft as well as the living room have a TV. The house has an open floor plan with hardwood floors and vaulted ceilings. One of the nicest features of the house is the wonderful, private deck overlooking Thomas Basin, the city’s boat harbor. This is a rare find in downtown Ketchikan, to have a large deck with a view in the downtown area.
The deck is nicely furnished and is complete with a large gas barbecue. And, yes, there is an authentic, totem pole located just outside the front door. The pole is a classic Haida pole called Three Watchmen, Eagle, Raven Totem Pole. It is on the neighboring private property but viewable from the public sidewalk. If you would like to stay a while, this is a perfect extended stay. The kitchen is well equipped, there is off street parking, no stairs and there is a washer and dryer.

This house is private and we liked that is wasn’t an apartment or condo. It is in a great location near everything we needed so we didn’t get a car. It was perfect for us because our fishing guide was docked at Thomas Basin which was only a few yards from the house. There were 3 of us. I would stay here again. It was comfortable and very clean.
This is a perfect house. Very clean and quiet. Close to everything we needed so we didn’t have to rent a car. We would highly recommend this place! Mary was great to deal with when booking. 5 star!
What a great little house! We enjoyed a weeklong stay at the Stedman Red House and would definitely book it again if we return to Ketchikan. It was fully and very elegantly equipped from nice glassware and dishes to a great Weber grill on the deck. The beds were comfortable and the linens and towels perfectly fine. We walked everywhere and rented a car for just one day to explore the farther reaches of the area. Mary was very professional and friendly and a great source of information. The location was so central to all of our activities and we felt safe and secure. Thanks for a great vacation stay!
