We’ve stayed at the Whale Watch Suite twice now. It is a perfect location and home for visiting in Ketchikan! We were welcomed back in August. Good place for whale watching and Bald Eagle sightings. Close to bear watching. The suite is always clean and perfect with a nice parking space. Lots of amenities with a washer/dryer down the hall. Wet weather gear if needed. Beautiful view! Private and tranquil. We hope to be next summer as well!’
This is such a beautiful location with everything you could want for the perfect Alaska escape. The past two years we have gone we have seen whales each time. They are also not far from Herring Cover which is great to see bears.! The views are stunning and the rooms are very clean and homey. The location is just far enough out of town so you can feel secluded, but also close enough to the town that we went out to eat every night. The owners are great and available whenever you need them. We highly recommend staying here and we plan to be back next year!
My family has stayed in most of the rooms that are available at this stunning location. Most recently we stayed the last week in June 2022 to coincide with the King salmon run. My wife, son and I stayed in the Whale Watch suite while my son’s fiancé stayed in Natasha’s Room (which was perfect for her as it has its own bathroom). The views and accommodations cant be beat. And the pièce de résistance of the week was on our last day. I was up early around 6 am sitting out on the deck with my coffee. I heard it before I saw it – the humpback whale blowing in the stillness of the morning. I looked toward the sound and saw it surfacing no farther than 50 feet from shore! What a treat!! We will certainly be back.
This rental was perfect for our needs. We added the extra suite since we had 4 adults. The house is close enough to everything to do, but far enough out of town to avoid the cruise ship crowds. The view from the deck is beautiful regardless of whether it’s rainy or sunny. The house had all of the basic amenities you’d need and some you probably didn’t think of. They have rain jackets, fishing poles, and boots in the laundry room that you can borrow. Mary was very attentive to any questions that we had. Will definitely rent through Mary again if we are in Ketchikan.
My son and I had a phenomenal trip to Ketchikan and Mary’s place was a huge part of that. We travel to fish and the guide service we used was excellent. When our day trip was over we were catching salmon from the beach in front of our place, which was probably more rewarding than the guided trip. Mary was very communicative and made things easy for us. The accommodations were excellent. If you read their bio you will see that Mary and her family are ‘True Alaskans’ and that is a title that is not easy to acquire. Thank you Mary and we will be back.
Thank you. We would love to have you back. I posted your son’s fishing picture on the website!
