We (two people) stayed in the Aleksandra Seaside Suite for a week in August 2020. It has the most amazing view of the sea and the mountains, and it’s so quiet you can hear the waves lapping on the shoreline – you can’t hear the road at all. The apartment is well-appointed with everything you might need for a week’s stay. The only thing we missed was having an oven but the grill on the deck is a great alternative. During our week’s stay, we saw so much wildlife: bald eagles (all day, every day), seals, a pod of orcas, and a humpback whale that surfaced just outside our window and waved at us with his tail. Overall an unforgettable week.

After a small boat trip from Sitka to Ketchikan, we stayed for five nights at Anchor Inn by the Sea in the Aleksandra Suite. I was afraid that after being away from home for almost three weeks already, we’d wish we’d just gone straight home and not stayed in Ketchikan. But once we settled into the Aleksandra Suite, we pretty much felt we were at home! It was so comfortable, and the view of the ocean from the living room and deck was fabulous—we were essentially right on the water. We loved our time at Anchor Inn by the Sea—it provided just the kind of quiet, relaxed time that we so enjoy when we travel. This unit doesn’t have an oven, and we missed that, but we got by just fine. We were lucky that each afternoon the sun came out so we could sit out in the sunshine and enjoy the activity on the water. Our days here were the perfect way to end our first holiday since the start of covid. And I’ve already booked rooms here for next summer’s girls’ trip to Ketchikan!

We had an incredible stay in September of 2021. Such beautiful views and great accommodations! Anchor Inn is one of the best places to stay and we will be back every year!
