We have thoroughly enjoyed our stay in the Orca Suite and wish we could stay longer! The view is spectacular – we’d sit for hours watching the water change, the clouds shift across the sky and eagerly await the return of a humpback whale, seals and eagles we’ve seen. The deck is a perfect spot for morning coffee, evening cocktails and everything in between! The indoor space has been exactly what we’ve needed – comfortable bedroom, plenty of linens, cozy living room, and just enough kitchen gadgets to make some of our own meals. An added perk was the washer/dryer availability – it is shared and coin-op, and was always available when we needed it.

Mary was a wonderful host. Reliably responsive and accommodating and also offered plenty of privacy during our stay. We would highly recommend anyone staying here.

Great property! Beautiful view of the ocean: whales, orcas & eagles! Mary was a gracious and helpful hostess. Perfect space for a couple to stay in and enjoy Ketchikan!

We brought our whole family to Alaska to celebrate my retirement and Mary’s place at 4650 and 4672 S. Tongass Hwy was the perfect spot for us all to be together. We will never forget this vacation and my husband and I hope to be back again in a few years. One warning though once you see the view you will judge every place you stay in the future to it and good luck finding a place so beautiful. I miss it already.

We have stayed at the Anchor Inn by the Sea 3 times. We have stayed in each one of the suites, and love them all! We would not come to Ketchikan and stay anywhere else! Mary is so pleasant and has everything so well supplied. It is comfortable and decorated very nicely! We love staying at Anchor Inn by the Sea!

My wife and I have been to Alaska a number of times but our first visit to Ketchikan was in the summer of 2020 when we went on a cruise. We enjoyed Ketchikan so much we decided to come back in August 2021. We stayed in The Anchor Inn by the Sea for 12 days. It was such an amazing trip we already booked a reservation for 2022! Right from our room at the Anchor Inn by the Sea we spotted hump back whales and orca! During our stay we booked a whale watching tour. That was fun but we didn’t spot any whales. The most interesting thing about the tour is the boat took us right to where we were staying! When you visit Ketchikan make sure to visit the Cape Fox Lodge Restaurant. It sits high above town and offers an amazing view and the food is very good as well. Finally, Mary was the perfect host! You can’t do any better.

We stayed in the Orca suite at Mary’s Anchor Inn for a week in July. Mary provided us with everything to make our stay comfortable and memorable. Sadly, it rained so much that we didn’t sit on the deck much but the views were incredible even from inside! We were amazed watching the Eagles every day. The Inn is just 4 miles from town so it is conveniently located. We enjoyed the Cape Fox Inn for dinner one evening, had an excellent lunch at Salmon Falls Fishing lodge, and enjoyed many little restaurants and bars in town. We caught our limit on a Salmon Fishing Charter and did an incredible float plane trip to the beautiful Misty Fjords. We would go back to Ketchikan in a heartbeat and would definitely stay at Mary’s place again. Our hearts are still there watching the Eagles!

My husband & I enjoyed our stay very much at Anchor Inn this past July 2022, and Mary is a very gracious host. She was available when needed to offer suggestions and recommendations to make our stay comfortable. There is sufficient kitchen supplies and BBQ to make our own meals, which we like to do. We do plan to return for a future visit to Anchor Inn and would highly recommend this place to future visitors.

When my husband and I went on our first vacation in four years, we really wanted to go somewhere special. After a few weeks of searching I found this little place just outside of Ketchikan. The pictures were so lovely. I can tell you, they did not do the place justice. It was like staying in a postcard! Mary, the owner of the property, was so welcoming and kind. Upon leaving, I was in such a rush that I left a fragile gift that was meant for my mother-in-law. She was so sweet and mailed the item home to me! We hope to return and visit again some day. Definitely a 10/10 experience!
