#506-1 The Beach House (Captain’s Suite) These vacation rental units are located only 2 miles from downtown Ketchikan. The house is as close as you can get to the ocean. This is a busy waterway where all of the large ships come through on the way in or out of the Ketchikan harbor. Otter, seals, orca and humpback whales are frequently seen. There are eagles that regularly perch on a pole near the water. The view is ever changing and the activity of the waterway of the Tongass Narrows is very entertaining.
Captain’s Suite is a completely equipped 2000 sq. ft. three-bedroom suite with a fully equipped kitchen. Each of the three bedrooms have a private bathroom. The master bedroom has a king bed size bed and a private bath. The second bedroom has a queen bed and an extra long twin bed and a private bath. The third bedroom has a queen-size bed and a private bath. There is also an extra-long twin bed in the alcove of the living room. This large unit has big windows that wrap around the living room & dining room area. It also has a private laundry room with washer and dryer. There is a Smart TV for online streaming only.
There are two one bedroom suites on the upper level, the Starboard Suite and the Portside Suite. The Captain’s Suite is on the lower level and has three bedroom with three bathrooms. All of the suites have decks that face the ocean. Follow the links for more details and photos.

We stayed at The Beach House (Captains Suite) for 6 days. It was fantastic to be right on the water, overlooking the channel. Every morning we were greeted by a bald eagle (named Fred by the family in a unit above us). The suite far exceeded our expectations.
Working with Mary on renting the property and getting information about Ketchikan was a pleasant experience.

Six of us stayed at the Captain’s Suite (lower level) for 6 days and had a great stay. Fred the eagle greeted us every morning, we saw a humpback whale, 3 otters and a couple seals! Simply cannot beat the view being right on the Tongass Narrows!
The beds were comfortable, the suite was very spacious and accommodating for our holiday happenings.
The sectional sofa was a bit disappointing and could use repair.
Mary and the home owners were very responsive and easy to work with.
We stayed at the Beach house “captain suite”for 9 days. Now that we are home we really miss that world class view.
We did not see any whales while at the house but we were fishing a lot and saw many while we were on the boat.
We fished from the front lawn as well and our grandchildren brought in many Rock fish. It was great watching them get excited about catching these little fish. And they loved returning them to the sea
This is an ideal spot to be close to town whike enjoying pure Alaskan beauty in a private setting!
Both Alaska Travelers and the owner were helpful with where to hike, eat and what to do in town.
We had the privilege of being here on July 4th. The celebration was fabulous complete with parade, raffle, games, rubber ducky contest and THE BEST FIREWORKS at 11:00 PM. A memory for a lifetime

It is spacious and well equipped. We ate in every night because we were 7 at this house and 7 at another house. There were plenty of serving and cooking supplies
Ketchikan is a must see place!! If you have 6-8 people the Captains suite is ideal!!
We just returned home from the best vacation ever. On the first evening of our stay we saw humpback whales right in front of the house. Our group was 2 couples and our 2 teenage daughters. We had plenty of space and loved the fact that there were 3 bathrooms. The house was impeccably clean and very comfortable. Jennifer went above and beyond as a hostess. She even brought us a big pot to cook crab in.
My family and I stayed at the Beach House “Captains Suite” for 8 nights and were blown away by this place. The views are extraordinary. The house has plenty of windows so you can enjoy the view inside or out. It’s very open living space. You can sit on the deck and just relax.
We saw whales right outside, bald eagle, salmon jumping, crabs during low tide. It was incredible. Some days we got to see cruise ships pass by the house on there way out and just about daily we saw float planes taking off and landing. We enjoyed fishing and caught some salmon and rockfish.
The location of the house is close enough to walk into town (took about 15 min).
Bedrooms/bathrooms were spacious and comfortable.
Loved having laundry in the house.
I have nothing negative to say about this house. I hope to stay there again next time we visit beautiful Ketchikan.
My husband and I and four of our friends stayed at the Beach House for a week. We self checked in which we love because of covid . We loved the eagle on the pole everyday. The suite has everything plus more for cooking. Loved having our own private bathrooms. Also beach fire on the ocean was amazing! I definitely will be back next summer !
Four fisherman in the Captains Suits at the Beach House! Everything we could have wanted. Plenty of room, several bedrooms, right on the Tongans Narrows, wonderful scenery, couldn’t have asked for more. Everything about the Suite was exactly as we expected or BETTER..
6 of us (3 couples) stayed at the Beach House for 5 days. What a great place to stay! The views are absolutely amazing. My wife and I sat and drank our morning coffee everyday on the deck. The house has 3 bedrooms each with it’s own bathroom. You can’t beat the setup of the house or the views you’ll be able to enjoy. Jen and her husband were super nice. We’re definitely planning to return.
We stayed at the Beach House with 6 and it was perfect. The house is very clean with each room has it’s own bath room and shower. The view and fishing was off the hook. Nice to have coffee while fishing, watch whales and cruse ships pass by..
Highly recommend this place and we will certainly return next vacation..

We stayed at the Beach House with three couples and had a fantastic experience! Fishing behind the house with a great open floor plan view of the channel was unforgetable. We also got to see whales pass by. Highly recommend staying here. Mary and Jennifer were great and easy to work with!
